On November 2nd Descartes acquired InterCommIT. Customers of Descartes and InterCommIT are members of the world’s premier Global Logistics community – The Global Logistics Network – facilitating improved performance and productivity of logistics operations around the world.

 

As part of this community, Descartes-InterCommIT’s customers will have access to additional solutions via Descartes Logistics Technology Platform to improve purchased transportation, dock appointment scheduling, in-transit inventory visibility, customs filing and other related areas of supply chain execution and global trade compliance.

Integration as a Service

‘Integration as a Service’ is a concept that consists of four specific groups of services, each of which focuses on outsourcing specific B2B integration processes:


EDI/XML: the automated exchange of EDIFACT/XML messages.
e-Invoicing: the automated exchange of electronic invoices, including archiving, post distribution and payment options.
e-Documents: the (automated) exchange of all kinds of corporate documents including web forms.
e-Catalogue: managing and exchanging uniform product information based on data pools (GDSN, GS1DAS, etc.)

All of these subservices are based on InterCommIT’s Central Services. This consists of three parts: InterCommIT’s Central Translation Service , the Go-secure network and Additional Services.
